AAF ADDYs Show Open 2019
For the second year in a row, we partnered with the DC chapter of the American Advertising Federation to produce content for the 2019 ADDY Awards.
The theme was “Heroes of Advertising,” focusing on the unsung heroes of our favorite campaigns. After collecting various stories from AAF members ranging from rabid raccoons, defecating dogs, and thong-clad wrestlers, our sights landed on unsung hero Sonya Gavankar, the Director of PR at the Newseum, who shared a hilarious account of her own experience as a production assistant in the early aughts during a Civil War-based video shoot.
We spent one evening and one freezing cold day with Sonya, a few AAF VIPs, and actual Civil War reenactors who reenacted her reenactment – Drunk History style. Special thanks to Old Timey Casting for providing all of the period-based talent, props, and costumes.
